Kim Jong…Ill?

Should I feel badly that Kim Jong Il is…ill?  (bad play on words – I know).  He’s reportedly suffered a stroke.

According to the news report,

According to The Times, talk in Asia is turning to the odd cast of characters who may succeed him.

The inner workings of the Kim dynasty suggest that wives, concubines, blood brothers and old comrades are rising and falling with increasing regularity and drama.

One son is a confirmed gambler, another is rumored to be effeminate and practically nothing is known about the third.

Hey!  That sounds like a party!!

I’m trying to summon some compassion, but it just isn’t coming.

Maybe tomorrow.

The alternate reality of Iraq

I’m sick and tired of the portrayal of our servicemen and women as being some sort of barbaric, blood-thirsty thugs. I’m sick and tired of the portrait being painted of the Iraq mission as being an invasion, occupation, a war for oil, etc., etc.

I’m not simple enough to think I can do much, but I can do a little. I plan on scouring the internet to find stories and photos of positive changes we’re making in the world. I’m fully aware that these won’t be published by the Main Stream Media (not even by Fox News, which I am very disappointed about). I vow to find ’em and post ’em.

If you or someone you know wishes to submit such photos or commentary, please give me a shout at

This photo is dated Wednesday, February 14, 2007.

The caption reads:

A US soldier from the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment of the Second Infantry Division greets a child in the Shaab neighborhood of Baghdad, Iraq Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007 during a house-to-house search.

Who is showing the American people this images? No one! Why? There are a thousand different reasons.

I’m proud of these men and women. They deserve better than they’ve gotten from us.

Iran promises U.S./Israel ending soon

I’m not sure how much more clear these guys need to be . I think the problem is that the politicians in the U.S. (and elsewhere) are always blowing hot air and making promises that they never intend to keep. At some point, we just stop believing what they say.

I don’t know that we can count on the radical Islamic element to practice the same tactics as we do. I’d rather be safe and assume they mean what they say.

Iran: Israel, US will soon die

Israel and the United States will soon be destroyed, Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tuesday during a meeting with Syria’s foreign minister, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) website said in a report.“Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad… assured that the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel will soon come to the end of their lives,” the Iranian president was quoted as saying.

“Sparking discord among Muslims, especially between theMarked Man Shiites and Sunnis, is a plot hatched by the Zionists and the US for dominating regional nations and looting their resources,” Ahmadinejad added, according to the report.

The Iranian president also directly tied events in Lebanon to a wider plan aimed at Israel’s destruction. He called on “regional countries” to “support the Islamic resistance of the Lebanese people and strive to enhance solidarity and unity among the different Palestinian groups in a bid to pave the ground for the undermining of the Zionist regime whose demise is, of course, imminent.”Ahmadinejad has threatened the State of Israel with annihilation several times in recent months, and has recently added the US and Britain to the list of countries he says will be destroyed.

Syria’s Foreign Minister, Wailed Mualem, accused the US of attempting to carry out a “massacre of Muslims” and of sowing “discord among Islamic faiths in the region.”

Mualem called on “regional states to pave the ground for the establishment of peace and tranquillity… while preventing further genocide of the Muslims,” the IRIB website said.

It’s time to take these guys seriously and stop them before they do annihilate Israel, Britian and us. If they later say, “we were only kidding”, we can give ’em a heartfelt “okay, well, sorry!”

And perhaps this time, we can stop with the rebuilding the country of our enemy after we beat the crap out of them. Why must we put the defeated in a more solid and advanced state? Our generousity and compassion after we have emerged victorious has gotten us exactly nothing.

Americans need to wake up, or find themselves facing the sword.
